Tattoo aftercare

Great tips to take care of new tattoos

You will be leaving the Studio with a fresh Tattoo that is covered to keep it clean. Please bare in mind that it is an open wound so our recommended Aftercare is important in order for your Tattoo to heal with the best possible results.

Leave the wrap on your tattoo for the first 2-4 hours then when you are in a clean environment , carefully remove the wrap and gently wash the Tattoo with lukewarm soap and water (We recommend a Ph Neutral soap like Johnson’s baby wash as it is unperfumed and for sensitive skin) Leave your Tattoo to air dry and keep unwrapped , unless told otherwise.

Day Two – Very gently (with clean hands) wash your Tattoo again with warm soap and water and again leave to air dry. You will then moisturise your Tattoo 3 – 4 times a day (with the recommended aftercare cream we have advised) apply a thin layer and do this daily until your Tattoo is healed (2-4 weeks)

It is important to Keep your new tattoo clean, dry and out of the sun. When showering or bathing , do not soak the Tattoo and do not use perfumed soap or shower gel on or near the tattoo.

Don’t do strenuous exercise for the first few days and try to wear clothes that don’t irritate your Tattoo in anyway. No swimming , Saunas or Spray Tans until the Tattoo is fully healed ! Change any bed sheets and towels to make sure everything is clean. Making sure there is no cross contamination is vital , so no sharing your Aftercare creams with anyone else !

How well you look after your tattoo will help with the end result, so please do not pick , scratch or irritate your Tattoo while it heals.
Everybody heals differently and some will take longer then others but if you follow our aftercare, you should have zero problems .

You may find that you will need a touch up once your Tattoo is healed so offer that for free as long as it’s within the first month and it’s through no fault of your own.
